Intellectual Symposium: Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid and History


Isa Cultural Centre (ICC) is to organize an intellectual symposium entitled "Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid and History", which will be held in conjunction with the Kingdom of Bahrain's hosting of the 34th session of the meeting of the General Secretariat of Historical Documentation and Studies Centers in of GCC. On Monday, December 27, 2021

The symposium will discuss the biography of late Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa, his efforts in developing Arab and Gulf historical and cultural relations, and his role in establishing the General Secretariat more than 40 years ago. The symposium also review the thought and methods of His Highness Sheikh in historical and cultural documentation approaches.

Dr. Fahd Al-Samari, Secretary-General of the Documentation and Studies Centers in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Executive Director of the Isa Cultural Centre, will present opening speeches, in addition to working papers by speakers and academics from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Sultanate of Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.

Speakers includes: Sheikh Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, Director of the Historical Documents Centre at ICC as a keynote speaker, along with Professor Saeed Al Hashemi, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History at Sultan Qaboos University; Professor Talal Al Tarifi, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University. Dr. Mansour Sarhan, Director of the National Library at ICC, and Mrs. Fatima Al Mansouri, Director of Zayed Center for Studies and Research (Emirates Heritage Club), will also present their papers.
