ICC" TO HOLD "CONFERENCE ON THE HISTORY OF RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE IN BAHRAIN

On behalf of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairman of board of trustees of Isa Cultural Centre (ICC), Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Executive Director of ICC inaugurates the Conference on the history of religious tolerance in Bahrain, which is organized by the Historical Documents Centre at ICC, during 16-17 November 2015, in conjunction with the annual celebration of International Day for Tolerance, participated by a number of representatives of different religions and sects in Bahrain.

Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa started his speach by a minute of silence for the martyrs of terrorism in all parts of the world. Then he stated that "the history of Bahrain always tells stories of the tolerance, spilled by the people of this country, living together in an atmosphere marked by camaraderie and synergy, which support and enshrined by His Majesty the King's approach to despite differences,"

the Centre seeks through this conference towards the documentation of that golden social era, to affirm that the originality of our society and the social fabric, and to realize that we need to build our reality and future in reference to our tolerant past, and not to leave a gap to be filled by those strict and skeptic people, to incite the hearts and minds, and provoke spreading discrimination and hatred among the people.
